Transform Your Content Strategy for Today’s Media and Beyond

Your information content is a critical business asset. It is a key differentiator of you, your organization, and what you have to offer customers. For some, it is the first introduction you have to potential new customers and for the rest an integral tool in retaining and expanding your existing customer relationships.

Traditionally people have viewed content in isolated silos. Separating marketing and product management from the engineering development from support services. In today’s market place, leaders have taken a transformative approach and have broken down the archaic barriers to allow for a dynamic flow of information and collaboration while still maintaining a high level of visibility into all facets of the lifecycle. How? By changing the way they manage content!

In this recorded web session, we discuss what true component-level content management can do for you and your bottom line. We will give you tips and pointers of key things to look for when evaluating solutions and red flags to avoid.

ROI of XML

In this recorded, one-hour web session we invite you to join the conversation.

If you have information about your company’s product or services that needs to be delivered to customers, whether it’s in print or electronic form, chances are you have heard of XML.

Are you finding yourself in the position of having to explain to others:

  • What’s all the big deal about XML?
  • Why should I care?
  • What’s in it for me?
  • How is it going to save me time?
  • How will I lower cost?

Then come and listen to our expert panel of industry leaders as they share with you a bit of their journey and what the true ROI is of XML. Experts from Hewlett-Packard, Medtronic, Nortel, and Toro.

No matter how large or small, how new or how old your company is or what technology or service your company provides XML can have significant returns for you in:

  • Reuse content for faster delivery of information
  • Separation of form and content (your writers can write rather than try to tweak with documents to get them to look right)
  • Ability to deliver information in the language and format of choice
  • Utilize resources more effectively to help you meet your deliverables/Do more with less/Improve time to market/Productivity

Who should watch?

  • Business leaders who are interested in gaining a competitive edge by improving product information.
  • Content creators who are trying to help their management understand the need for change.
  • Executives with P&L responsibility who need to drive to a greater ROI.

Podcast: Todd Nowlan, “Benefits of XML and single-sourcing”

When we were getting ready for the CMS DITA/NA 2010, we reached out to long-time Arbortext customers to find out where they were now, what they did originally, and how they got from point A to point B. Just what did it take to make a successful single-sourcing implementation happen.

One of the customers willing to talk about their implementation was Todd Nowlan, “large Canadian telecom”. They’d started before DITA was really ready, and they’re still using the system today. The original project was to support enterprise content in a large, global company. What they did was amazing. We’ve heard Todd’s story several times, and are amazed each time. Something more comes out in what it takes to be successful at that level for that long.

On this podcast, we’re delighted to have Todd share what he knows with the user community so you, too, can be successful with your projects.  You might also enjoy Todd’s presentation to the Arbortext User Group from August 2010. We all learn from each other. Talk, present, or listen. Whatever you do, join the conversation.

Enjoy!
